Transport and Parking for Robbie Williams Concert

Robbie Williams: Saturday 4 June 2022

Robbie Williams is coming home Sat 4th June 2022 Live at Vale Park stadium Stoke-on-Trent

Motorists and visitors to Burslem are reminded that a number of streets will be closed and have restricted access around the Port Vale ground on Saturday (4 June) for the Robbie Williams gig. Around 20,000 fans are expected to attend the concert on Saturday. Motorists are urged to allow extra time for their journeys and to plan on using alternative routes if they are not attending the gig.

Hamil Road, from the junction of High Lane to Jenkins Street, and Bycars Road will be closed to through traffic, and there will be no access from Hamil Road to Market Place (North).

A number of residential streets off Hamil Road and surrounding the ground will operate residents-only access, and staff from Event Support Team, the company managing the arrangements for the gig, will be on site to support local residents in accessing their properties.

The streets with residents-only access are:

  • Bowden Street
  • Bycars Road
  • Bycars Lane
  • Dollys Lane
  • Dartmouth Street
  • Garlick Street
  • Gordon Street
  • Lawton Street
  • Leigh Street
  • Leonard Street
  • Lorne Street
  • Louise Street,
  • Macclesfield Street
  • May Street
  • Park Road

  • Stanfield Road
  • Tellwright Road
  • Wade Street
  • Wilson Street

Concert-goers will be able to access taxi-drop off and pick-up points in Burslem Park after the gig, between 9.30-11pm. Taxis from Lucky Seven and City Centre cabs will access the park from Moorland Road and exit onto Park Road, and the taxi route will be marshalled for pedestrian safety.

The map below shows the expanse of the park between Moorland Road, Park Road and Hamil Road and the green star represents the bandstand in the middle of the park. The concert takes place at the Port Vale stadium adjacent to the park in Hamil Road.

Vehicle drop off

The taxi operation is being managed by Event Support Team, and not the city council. Only taxis from Lucky Seven or City Centre Cars will be allowed access.

The taxis will be using the tarmacked paths highlighted in green in the park, and will do so in single file. Park users are asked to be mindful of this and for their co-operation at this time. Only the taxis at the front of the queue will be available and there will be no overtaking or driving on the grass verges. There will be an overflow for queuing taxis on Moorland Road, via the entrance to the park.

Please note that any taxis must be pre-booked by marshals and any cars not abiding by the rules with denied access.
