New app launch in Stoke-on-Trent makes parenting advice EasyPeasy

Published: Thursday, 7th December 2023

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has commissioned the EasyPeasy app, which has now launched to support parents and their 0-5 year olds in the city.

The launch of the app in the city has been funded from the over £3.5 million in government funding awarded to the city council as part of the Family Hubs project. The roll out of Family Hubs in the city is underway, with hubs currently open in Bentilee and Longton (Westfield) and two more sites set to launch next year.

Family Hubs provide a single access point to support from a range of services, with a blended offer of digital and physical support to ensure as many families as possible can access the support and advice on offer from Family Hubs.

EasyPeasy brings together the best ideas, advice, and inspiration from our community of parents, experts, and brands supporting parents and their 0-5 year olds during the crucial early years.

The app includes information on a range of topics including:

  • Wellbeing
  • Bedtime
  • Nutrition
  • Speech and language
  • Mindfulness

It also allows parents and carers to create and share their own parenting tips and experiences with each other, building peer to peer support systems in local communities.

Councillor Sarah Hill, cabinet member for children’s services said: “I’m thrilled that the EasyPeasy app has launched in Stoke-on-Trent to support families with young children. The early years of a child’s life can have a profound impact into adulthood so early support at this stage can have a huge influence on their development.

“EasyPeasy is just one piece of the puzzle in our push for early intervention and preventative support for children and families in the city.

“We’ve got lots of face-to-face support available through projects like our Family Hubs and new Family Support model but we also know that not everyone can, or wants to, access support in person so EasyPeasy is a fantastic addition to our digital offer.”

Jen Lexmond, Founder and CEO of EasyPeasy said: "We’re delighted to have launched EasyPeasy in Stoke-on-Trent. Our mission at EasyPeasy is to support parents during their children’s early years by empowering them with knowledge, inspiration, and ideas.

“By blending the convenience of digital access with the warmth of community wisdom, we are building an inclusive space for families of all backgrounds in Stoke-on-Trent."

Residents can download the app from the App Store or the Google Play store. More information, and a free premium subscription to the app, are available at www.easypeasyapp.com/stoke.
