Council run leisure centres are throwing open their doors for a free open weekend offering taster sessions, family activities and membership incentives to people who sign up.
Members and non-members are being welcomed to visit the centres, providing the perfect opportunity for people to meet the staff and existing members.
During the Active Stoke open weekend which will run Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1, staff will be providing a variety of free activities for visitors to participate in, including spinning, yoga, badminton, football and more. There will be opportunities for people to try new activities, get a feel of the community spirit, and discover all the fantastic services.
The open weekend will run at:
- Wallace Centre: Friday 29 September, 12pm-6.30pm
- Fenton Manor: Saturday 30 September, 10am-4pm
- Dimensions: Sunday 1 October, 10am-4pm
During the weekend people will also be able to sign up for a membership at one of the centres and automatically get upgraded to global membership (access to all Stoke-on-Trent City Council leisure centres); a deal not to be missed.
Council leader Jane Ashworth said: “We hope as many of you will come along to the open weekend as possible to get a taster of what our leisure centres have to offer, as I know often the idea of going it alone or committing to an annual membership can be daunting. Our friendly team will be on hand to help, advise and provide guidance.
“Our leisure centres are such a hub of fun and community spirit, we host classes for all ages and many of our members say they feel like they are part of one big family. So come and take a closer look, try something new and take advantage of our exclusive open weekend membership upgrade!”
