Leek New Road resurfacing works set to start
Work will start next week on a road resurfacing programme in Sneyd Green.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council will be completing carriageway resurfacing works on Leek New Road, between Stanway Avenue and Norton Drive, Sneyd Green as part of efforts to improve the key transport route.
The works will be completed in two phases:
- Phase one will be completed during the day, from Monday 3 July to Saturday 8 July. (8am to 6pm)
- Phase two will be completed overnight from Tuesday 11 July to Saturday 15 July (7pm to 6am).
Councillor Amjid Wazir, cabinet member for environment and enforcement said: “We have, and are continuing, to work hard to upgrade the city’s road network to make it easier for drivers and pedestrians to travel around Stoke-on-Trent. We thank residents and road users for their patience during this time and every effort will be made to minimise disruption while this important work is carried out.”
The decision for overnight works makes it safer for workers, by removing passing traffic and it minimises disruption to local bus networks.
Signage will be put in place in advance of the works starting. Two-way signals will be in operation for the day works, and a diversion will be in place for overnight works.
