Makers Market will return to Gladstone Pottery Museum this November

Published: Thursday, 16th March 2023

Following an extremely popular event in February, Gladstone Pottery Museum will be hosting a second ceramics Makers Market later this year.

The Makers Market was the first of its kind in over 10 years at the Museum and saw over 2000 people come through the museum doors and browse stalls from 30 stallholders.

February’s Makers Market includes a variety of vendors, including previous contestants of The Great Pottery Throw Down, such as Jacob Chan, Henry Moore, Lucinda Lovesey, Cait Gould, and Clover Lee.

It has now been confirmed that the Gladstone Ceramics Makers Market will return on Saturday 18 November 2023.

Cllr Lorraine Beardmore, cabinet member for culture, leisure, and public health said:

“After the phenomenal success of the first Makers Market, we knew we had to organise a second one for later this year. We have seen with shows like The Great Pottery Throw Down, that people are very interested in owning original and diverse pieces of ceramics.

“In February, we had visitors from all over the country, who came in some cases, to see specific vendors whom they had seen on the television. Plans are now underway to make our second Makers Market even bigger, with more stalls spread across the Gladstone site and plenty of well-known ceramics makers being approached to attend.”

More details will be released on the next Gladstone Ceramics Makers Market in the coming months, with updates being added to the following website - https://www.stokemuseums.org.uk/gpm/whats-on/
