Goldenhill Golf Course set to be demolished
Abandoned and derelict for over ten years, Goldenhill Golf Course Clubhouse is set for demolition, tomorrow (Wednesday 10 August) by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
In its hay day, the 18-hole, 120-acre site was home to amateur golfers and had been open since 1983.
In recent years, the clubhouse has attracted anti-social behaviour, and travellers and has been a magnet for fly-tipping.
Councillor Daniel Jellyman, cabinet member for regeneration, infrastructure and heritage has said: “The site has been a magnet for anti-social behaviour, which in turn is a drain on taxpayers’ resources.
Whilst no decision has been made on the future of the site, we are pleased to have removed a catalyst for anti-social behaviour, and redirect those funds into other areas.”
