Infant and junior admissions

Anyone who pays their council tax to Stoke-on-Trent City Council can use our application form to apply for a place for their child for admission to any publicly funded school in England as this council is classed as your ‘home’ local authority. If you pay your council tax to a different council, please use their application form, even if you want to apply for a Stoke-on-Trent school.

In addition to primary and secondary schools, Stoke-on-Trent has infant and junior schools. The normal point of entry to these schools is the reception class in an infant school and year 3 in a junior school.   To secure places in these schools for September admission (the normal point of entry), you will need to complete your home local authority’s application form.

Please read our Primary School Prospectus to find out about the infant and junior school application process and admission arrangements for Stoke-on-Trent infant and junior schools.

Please note: The deadline for applications is 15 January. Please make sure you apply on time to avoid disadvantage as late applications are considered after all on-time applications and may be unsuccessful.

The easiest way to do this is by completing our online application form by clicking the link below:

All on-time applicants will be notified of the school offered on 16 April. Late applications will be dealt with after on-time applications resulting in confirmation of the school offered on 1 May at the earliest.
