Information for landlords

Universal Credit will change the way you have to deal with your tenants and their rent.

Do you know if your tenant has a bank account? If they don't, they will need one in order to receive the payments.

Can your tenant access the internet? They will need to be able to apply for Universal Credit online. If they can't they may not receive be able to receive it.

If you don't think your tenant will be able to cope with getting their housing costs themselves, you can ask for an alternative payment arrangement from the Department for Work and Pensions.
