Developing Family Hubs across Stoke-on-Trent 
We're working with partners across Stoke-on-Trent to develop Family Hubs, funded by the Department for Education.
Last year we were successful in our bid for a share of the government’s Family Hubs Transformation Fund. We have up to £3.5 million to develop Family Hubs across the city by March 2025.
What are Family Hubs?
Family Hubs support children and young people from birth until they reach the age of 19 (or up to 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities). They bring council, health and community services together so families can access the right support at the right time.
Family Hubs will act as a ‘one-stop shop’ to offer guidance and advice on a range of circumstances including, infant feeding, mental health support, health visits and parenting classes.
Our Family Hubs will provide a mix of physical and virtual spaces, as well as outreach, where families can easily access non-judgmental support for the challenges they may be facing.
Where to find our Family Hubs
Our Family Hubs will deliver services in a variety of ways and at a range of locations. We have begun by expanding some of our existing children’s centres into Family Hubs. Our Westfield site Buccleuch Rd, Stoke-on-Trent ST3 4RF was developed into our first Family Hub pilot site. We have recently launched our Bentilee Family Hub at 149 Dawlish Dr, Stoke-on-Trent ST2 0HP.
Family Hubs are not about creating new buildings but focus on bringing services together and changing the way family help and support are delivered locally. In practice, this will be a mix of using existing children’s centres and other community spaces. Family Hub services will also be delivered virtually.

Digital Family Hub
For residents who are unable, or don't want to, access a Family Hub in person our Digital Family Hub offers support and advice on:
• Mental and physical health
• Food and nutrition
• Early help
• Communication and language development
• Parenting groups and support
• Education
• Parental mental health

How to get involved
There will be many opportunities to get involved in shaping the development and delivery of Family Hubs, so watch this space.
Current opportunities:
- Parent Carer Panel - Our Parent Carer Panel aims to represent the views of all parents/carers and contribute towards the governance of Family Hubs, in the running and delivering of its services. The Parent Carer Panel is open to all families in Stoke-on-Trent.
- Breastfeeding peer supporter – receive training from the Breastfeeding Network to become a peer supporter in our Family Hubs.
