Making Great Places

We have joined forces with Staffordshire Police to combat crime and antisocial behaviour across the city.

Our vision is to create a healthier, wealthier, safer, greener, cleaner and fairer city for all and a big part of this is about making people feel safe where they live and making great places.

Making Great Places- Shelton

In September we started a coordinated partnership approach in the Shelton area of Stoke-on-Trent. Over 500 engagements with the community to capture intelligence took place in the first phase of enforcement action. Over 110 arrests were made by Staffordshire Police, search warrants were executed and vehicles seized with multiple tickets issued for various roads policing offences. The council has cleared fly tipping specifically in alleyways where sofas and other household items had been dumped illegally. The parks teams carried out weapon sweeps. Trading Standards seized illegal vapes, cigarettes and tobacco, private rented properties were inspected and checks on known rough sleepers are ongoing.
