Same Day Death Registration and Burial Requests

**Over the Christmas period the out of hours 'Saturday Same Day Provision' will be available on:

  • Saturday 21 December and Saturday 28 December 2024** between 9am and 12noon only.

 Registrars Out of Hours Service

Death bed marriage or civil partnership ceremony- requires a Registrar General's Licence or Special Provision Licence. Please call 01782 234234

The Chaplaincy Team at Royal Stoke University Hospital (RSUH) hold the contact details for the Superintendent Registrar (SR) and will contact them directly.

The table below shows the times that the Registration Service is available for contact. The registrar will then liaise with the customer concerned to deliver the ceremony at a time that best suits. This could be outside of office hours.Coroners Out of England Requests

In the event of an out of hours request to take a deceased body out of England for burial purposes. Please call 01782 234234 - the Contact Centre will pass the request to the 'On Call Coroners Officer' for consideration by the Coroner.

Copy Certificates

Orders for copy certificates are suspended from Friday 20 December until Monday 6 January 2025.

Orders submitted during this time WILL NOT be processed until Monday 6 January. This includes Standard and Priority applications.
