Tell us you've moved home

Moving out of Stoke-on-Trent

You will need to tell us the:

  • current address you live in
  • new address you will be moving to
  • dates of when you will be moving out of Stoke-on-Trent

If you have not received a refund within 28 working days, you can request a Council Tax refund online.

The easiest way to tell us you are moving out of Stoke-on-Trent is through the MyStoke account.

Before you start

You must have your Council Tax billing reference number to hand. You can usually find this on any correspondence, bills or statements that we've sent to you. If you don't know your account number, you can request it here.

If you are changing your address because you have bought or sold a property, you will need to know the completion date of any property bought or sold.

You will also need to provide either:

  • the name of the person or organisation who has bought your previous property, if relevant

or

  • your solicitor's details

If you are changing your address because you are beginning or ending a rental tenancy, you will need your:

  • tenancy start and end dates
  • landlord's or managing agent's details

How to tell us about this change

  1. Log into your MyStoke account
  2. Select Council Tax Online
  3. Under the Tell us you have moved home section, select I am moving out of the City.
