What will I learn? | Did you Know that in the 1800¿s the Headquarters of the Football league was actually here in Stoke on Trent? Port Vale is unique in that it is the only English football club name that doesn¿t refer to a actual place (It use to be Longport Vale FC) The current site of the Michelin Works was once a racecourse (there is still a racecourse Road next to the Cottage Pub) and the race course up at Keele was still in operation up until the early 1900¿s Why does Stoke have two football clubs but at town like St Helens or Bath only have rugby teams? Why are English sports such as Rugby hockey cricket netball all played across the world while other sports such as Australian Rule football, Gaelic Hurling or NFL are only played in single countries? |
