Who is this for?This workshop is suitable for adults who wish to develop the skills required to create word processing documents. This offers a development of computing skills in this area and will provide you with a better understanding of the role modern technology plays at home and at work.
Entry requirements19 plus years of age Live in Stoke-on-Trent You will need a basic level of computer literacy. You should have a sufficient level of English language to engage in discussions, complete exercises, and understand course materials and to complete written assessments.
What will I learn?Introduction to Microsoft Word. Line spacing and margins. Creating documents. Editing and formatting Text alignment. Headers and footers. Printing options. Progression opportunities. How to load Microsoft Word and recognise the basic tabs, tools and features available. How to set or change line spacing and adjust margins before creating documents. How to use a keyboard to enter uppercase and lowercase text, and also numbers and symbols. How to edit and format documents to improve the information and make the information easy to read. How to change the alignment of text to improve the visual impact of the document. How to add secondary information to the header and footer. How to use the available print options in Microsoft Word. Investigate other courses on offer and with tutor guidance identify suitable progression routes.
