| Who is this for? | Individuals with little or no experience using a computer. Those who feel intimidated by technology and want to build their confidence. Complete novices who want to learn the basics of using a computer for everyday tasks. |
| Entry requirements | 19 years plus of age live in Stoke-on-Trent. Learners should have a sufficient level of English language to engage in discussions, complete exercises and understand course materials. Inclusive learning environment that welcomes all learners from different backgrounds industries and perspectives. |
| What will I learn? | Understand safe working on a computer. How to switch the computer on and off. Using the mouse function. Using the keyboard function to write text. Identify icons and folders on the computer. Create folders and files on the desktop. Understand the settings tab. Apply the copy and paste function. Understand the concept of the internet and it various uses. Demonstrate how to use web browsers, open tabs, and navigate websites. Show how to explore a safe website. Outline safety when using the internet. Describe what an email address is for. Create an email account. Applying attachments to an email. Identifying folders and tabs on an email account. Compiling a letter or text on word, reflecting on your learnings from this course. Show how to pay a bill online or use a service using a website Practice sending emails with attachments. |
