Directors of Public Health (DPH) in England have a statutory duty to produce an annual report outlining the health of their local population. The 2023 DPH report takes stock of the
state of the key health and wellbeing issues of our City. Reviewing this information has led to five key areas which will be our priorities within Stoke‐on‐Trent over the coming years:
• Cost of living
• Infant mortality
• Health inequalities
• Physical inactivity and obesity
• Premature (under‐75) deaths
