Stoke-on-Trent City Council takes your privacy seriously, so STAR can offer you a confidential service.
That means you can speak to us to get advice and support and we will not discuss or repeat what you say with anyone outside of the service.
In order to comply with data protection legislation we must be sure you understand how we use the information you share with us.
We will only keep and use your personal information to make sure you get the best support possible, help us to manage your action plan, ensure we are meeting your needs and keep you safe to the best of our ability.
We may share data with our internal audit team to evaluate the effectiveness of the organisation’s risk management, control and governance processes. We may also share your data with the council's fraud team to help to prevent and detect fraud.
We only keep this data for seven years.
There may be occasions when we have no choice but to break your confidence without your permission.
This might be because you or someone else is at risk of harm or we have been ordered to share your information.
We will make every effort to discuss it with you first.
As you have agreed to work with us we can’t offer you our support without using your information in this way.
