It is a well-known fact that 1 in 4 of us will suffer from mental health problems
in our lives. Suffering from mental ill health can feel just as bad if not worse than
being in physical pain due to illness, however, there is still a lack of understanding
and a stigma associated with it.
As partners, we have developed this strategy to clearly mark our intentions to
improve outcomes for service users across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
The strategy focusses on adults; however, we recognise the key need to link to
children’s mental health services to ensure smooth transition.
This document outlines our proposals, both in terms of priority outcomes and
actions to deliver. If agreed, we will move forward to develop implementation
plans for the north and south of the areas.
