A spokesperson for Middleport Matters has described the impact the Big Green Fund has had on the area:
“The sensory garden has transformed an abandoned plot into a thriving community space, offering residents a peaceful retreat within walking distance. By replacing an overgrown and neglected area with sensory gardens, edible plots, and a barefoot walk, the project has not only improved the neighbourhood’s appearance but also fostered a sense of community pride. The garden’s sustainable design promotes longevity and inclusivity, providing a lasting resource for relaxation, connection with nature, and local engagement.”

Natasha Gratton, CEO of Project Indi.
"The work and improvements to our outdoor area are a wonderful enhancement to our centre. The level flooring and accessible planters have allowed us to offer a more inclusive outdoor space for our members to enjoy. We are incredibly grateful to The Big Green Fund for making this possible! We are thrilled to be able to offer a safer and more accessible outdoor area for the many adults, children, and families who visit The Indi Club year-round!”

Paul Smith stated: "The Big Green fund has been an honour to be part of; and the mission to enhance our local area, with a safe and accessible walk-way and community garden has been achieved. We have also been able to develop a Balcony area for beneficiaries to access and further develop their sustainability and landscaping ambitions. "Project Manager Johnathan stated: "The Big Green fund - has enabled us to resolve long existing issues with accessibility to the alley-way for the commercial and residential tenants, all while creating a beautiful Green area in Meir. "
Founder Paul Smith added: " We are proud of the work that has taken place; and also seeing the project from concept to completion alongside Stoke Council. We hope that the Community in Meir will nurture the area and be inspired to create areas of tranquility and nature within the city as a whole through our forthcoming Green project tool-kit and follow-up activities.
