In March 2021, Government launched Bus Back Better – a National Bus Strategy for England. The aim is to make bus the mode of choice for many. There is a requirement for all English Local Transport Authorities to work with local bus operators to come up with ambitious plans for improving their local bus services and encourage more people to use them. Stoke on Trent City Council is aiming to secure funding to improve bus services.
To enable this, we must develop a Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) by 31st October 2021. We need your views and support to inform this. We would like to know what you think about your local bus services, how you think they could be improved and what would make you use buses more? It's important to hear views from both bus users and non-bus users.
The BSIP will detail how we propose to improve the bus services within the City. The BSIP will form part of the Enhanced Partnership agreement between the Council and the bus operators in the delivery of an improved bus network across the city. The Enhanced Partnership will include a clear vison and plan for the improvements the Council and operators are aiming for, together with the actions required to achieve a more attractive bus network for the future.
Let us know your views
The Council would like to hear from everybody with a view on buses. We also want to hear from the public, private and voluntary organisations who have an interest in making bus services more attractive. The survey should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.

The closing date is midnight Sunday 18th October 2021.
