Local Transport Plan

Transport planning in Stoke-on-Trent is coordinated by the Local Transport Plan.

Stoke-on-Trent Local Transport Plan (LTP3) provides strategy and direction to 2026.

LTP Capital Programme for 2017-18 was item 8 at the City Council Cabinet on Tuesday, 4 April 2017. Cabinet approved the 2017-18 programme and forward LTP capital programmes for 2018/19 and 2019/20.

The Stoke-on-Trent Local Transport Plan 3 refreshes the long term transport strategy of the North Staffordshire Local Transport Plan 2006/07-2010/11 (LTP2).

The North Staffordshire Local Transport Plan (LTP2) built on from the work delivered by our first Local Transport Plan for Stoke-on-Trent: Stoke-on-Trent Local Transport Plan 2001-2006 (LTP1).

Etruria Valley Highway and Connectivity Improvement Scheme

Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Central Government have agreed to co-invest in a new access from the A500 to reduce congestion and improve access to the Etruria Valley Enterprise Area and the City Centre, in line with the adopted Etruria Valley Enterprise Area – Supplementary Planning Document.

The new infrastructure will look to:

  • Create a better connection between the A500 and the city centre
  • Help to reduce congestion on busy roads
  • Connect communities
  • Provide a range of benefits to the existing local highway network
  • Improve journey times for people using the road network in the city
  • Provide new routes for public transport, pedestrians and cyclists
